The 5 acres of garden sit overlooking the Welsh river Dee on the Welsh/Shropshire border. The main features include shrub and herbaceous plantings in monochromatic,analogous and complimentary colour schemes based on a colour wheel by Gertrude Jekyll.
A long Rose avenue underplanted with Hydrangeas crosses the gardens leading to Sculpture garden,Parterre,large Lily pond,Victorian dovecote,secret garden with unusual double hedge,grasses garden and the whole area is home to the national collection of Hydrangeas with over 300 species and cultivars.
Many of the rare and interesting plants can be bought in the Tearoom/shop. Fresh seasonal flowers and market garden produce is also available .
